Your Site Name starter

Launch your website in 5 minutes

Download the theme, change a few lines of text and put your site online. No database, no account for the code, nothing to configure first.

  • Free theme
  • No coding needed
  • Free hosting on Cloudflare

How to start

Five short steps from download to a live website.

  1. Get the theme

Download the project and install it. You need Node 22.12 or newer and pnpm.

    git clone https://github.com/nviewsweb/astrowebtheme-free.gitcd astrowebtheme-freepnpm install
  2. Preview it

Start the preview, then open localhost:4321 in your browser. It updates as you edit.

    pnpm dev
  3. Make it yours

Open src/config/brand.mjs, search for EDIT and replace the name, address, contact details and links. Swappublic/images/featured.png for your own picture.

  4. Write your first post

Copy a file in src/content/blog/, change the title and the text, and save. It shows up on the blog straight away.

  5. Go live

Set projectName in src/config/wrangler.mjs, then publish with a free Cloudflare account.

pnpm wrangler_jsonpnpm buildpnpm exec wrangler deploy

Want the contact form? It is off by default. Turning it on needs a handler URL and two secrets; the steps are in docs/features/contact-form.md.

What you get

Everything a small site needs, with nothing to switch on.

Fast by default

Pages are built once and served from Cloudflare, close to your visitors.

Ready for search engines

Sitemap, RSS, robots.txt and llms.txt are generated for you.

A blog in plain text

Write posts as Markdown files. Tags, categories and search work out of the box.

Light and dark mode

Visitors can switch themes, and your colours are set in one file.

Secure and private

Strict security headers and an opt-in cookie banner come built in.

Contact form ready

A form that sends email through a handler you choose. It stays off until you switch it on.

Need help?

Most questions are answered in the docs. If yours is not, ask in Discussions. Found a bug? Open an issue.

Read the docs

Every feature has a short page: what it does, which file to edit and how to check it.

Ask a question

Not sure how to do something? Search Discussions, or ask there. Ideas and sites you built are welcome too.

Report a bug

Search the open issues first. If it is new, say what you expected, what happened and your Node and pnpm versions. Known gaps are in docs/known-gaps.md.
